Notice that thing that plays on your screen when a website or application is still loading? That is a called a website loading animation. Also called as preloaders, these are often used to notify the user that the website or application is still loading or it’s not crashed.
Website loading animations are pretty useful for resource-intensive websites and applications. On many occasions, loading animations are used as the first UX element. Without loading animation, the user sees the blank page and sometimes he or she might think that something is wrong.
There are many different kinds of preloaders these days. Developers work really hard to give you the best waiting experience with fun, satisfying preloaders. They make it seem like it is just a small and simple work but actually, it is difficult and tricky to create one.
In the digital world, the rise in animation-based jobs is obvious. This is because more and more brands and clients want to make use of this new and effective trend.
There are different ways to build a preloader and we will share some of them with you. Preloaders are usually made from loading GIFs. These loading GIFs are referred to as simple animations and simple animations are very easy to use and quite popular among graphic designers.
Moreover, another way is to use a CSS loader which also a popular choice among developers. They use CSS animations to build CSS preloaders. Other popular preloaders are the following: javascript preloader and SVG preloaders.
But before anything else, why use animation when you can use a regular non-animated website preloader? Here are the reasons why most developers opt for the animated ones.
Those are just some of the reasons why animations are a sure hit! You may seem to overlook the importance of website loading animations but these are the key to a making a user stay on your page. Might as well make them interesting and entertaining.
Furthermore, in this post, you can find great and funny preloaders that you can make use of. On the other hand, if you can’t find something useful, we hope these will inspire you to design and create one yourself.
Finally, feel free to use these for both personal and commercial purposes. Have fun designing!
